12 stycznia wielu chrześcijan przyjęło chrzest w rzece Jordan, rzece, w której chrzest przyjął sam Jezus. Do miejsca tego, w okolicach święta Objawienia Pańskiego pielgrzymuje kilka tysięcy osób.
