Al-Adha (Święto Ofiarowania) jest najważniejszym świętem muzułmańskim. Obchodzi się je w dwunastym miesiącu według kalendarza księżycowego (dul-hidżdża), podczas pielgrzymki muzułmanów do Mekki. Święto to upamiętnia ofiarę proroka Abrahama oraz jego posłuszeństwo wobec Boga, kiedy to otrzymał od Boga rozkaz zabicia swojego syna. Bóg jednak, widząc oddanie Abrahama, pozwolił mu złożyć w ofierze barana zamiast dziecka.
