Co najmniej 13 osób zginęło w Montecito w pobliżu Los Angeles w Kalifornii w wyniku zejścia lawin błotnych – poinformowały we wtorek wieczorem czasu lokalnego miejscowe władze, dodając, że prawdopodobnie liczba ofiar jeszcze wzrośnie.
Ciała ofiar znaleziono w zwałach błota i gruzu. „Z przykrością potwierdzamy śmierć 13 osób” – powiedział na konferencji prasowej szeryf okręgu Santa Barbara, w którym leży Montecito.
Lawiny zeszły na Montecito, miejscowość położoną na północny zachód od Los Angeles, w nocy z poniedziałku na wtorek czasu lokalnego.
